Voter Voices: Short Line, Quick Votes
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) - From family to foreign policy, voters in Onondaga County are casting ballots at Dewitt Town Hall on issues that are most important to them as part of the county's early voting period.
Kate Derrenbacker, expressed various issues, such as "overall stances with the different politicians on foreign policy, women's rights, rights for protected populations within our country, and environmental concerns."
Another voter, Zanderlynn Hall, states the importance of family, racial equality, and women's rights in her voting choices.
"Racism and women's rights. Also, I have a son; I don't want him drafted. That's a big part too," she said.
Jessica Smith praised the ease of early voting this year, stating, “There was no line this time of the day compared to the last time I voted in the presidential election when the line was out the door. Voting early was easy and quick — vote early!"
Upstate New Yorkers continue to support early voting because their opinions cover a variety of issues that will impact their communities.
